Module 3.

Mr. R's Wiki

This assignment is about creating an online wiki for use in the classroom.  I decided to focus my wiki on helping my students create a year end "artist statement".  I think it's important to give middle school students some guided choices in their artwork.  Here's a quick summary of my wiki but click the link to go directly to it.

Summary

Tool #1 Blabberize example blabberize
This site is a really fun way to make a quick video.  Upload a photo and the site can make the  mouth move as you speak into your computers microphone.  Videos can be shared and saved for later use.
       Use1. To show yearlong growth.
Use2. To create fun Artist statements.
Use3. Incorporate into Artist research project.

Tool #2 Prezi
Prezi is a different way to create a presentation.  Instead of creating a sequence of slides like in Powerpoint or Keynote, you more of a large poster that can be zoomed in and out and explored any way the viewer desires.
       Use1. To show your brainstorming.
Use2. To display your portfolio of work.
Use3. To present new project ideas.

Tool #3 plain old Quicktime example tutorial
Quicktime is known by most people as just a simple movie player but it is actually much more.  You can record screen tutorials, and audio recordings which can be saved in many standard formats.
       Use1. Record video tutorials.
       Use2. Empower students to teach.
Use3. Record audio for Artist statements.
